Previewing and downloading
Open Org shows you a live preview of your documents directly in the app, and lets you download the real Office file at any time.
What the preview shows:
- Word (.docx) — rendered view with headings, paragraphs, lists, tables, and callout boxes
- PowerPoint (.pptx) — slide-by-slide carousel with text, layout, and styling
- Excel (.xlsx) — spreadsheet grid with headers and data rows
Preview vs downloaded file: The preview is a faithful representation of your document's content and structure. However: - Precise fonts and spacing may differ slightly (web fonts vs Office fonts) - Advanced formatting (merged cells, animations) may not render in preview - The downloaded file is always the source of truth
Downloading: Click the download icon in the preview toolbar. You'll get a real .docx, .pptx, or .xlsx file that opens in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, or any compatible app.
Export as Markdown: For Word documents, there's an additional "Export as Markdown" option — useful for pasting into wikis, Notion, or other markdown-friendly tools.
