Troubleshooting documents
"This document needs to be regenerated" This means the document's content was corrupted and can't be displayed. Click the Regenerate button, review the prompt, and confirm — a fresh version will be created.
Document not updating after an edit:
- Check if the AI is still processing (loading indicator in preview)
- The AI may not have found the content you referenced — try using the exact heading text
- Try refreshing the preview (refresh action in toolbar)
Preview looks different from downloaded file: This is expected for some formatting. The download is always correct — when in doubt, download and open in Office.
AI created a new document instead of updating:
This can happen when you start a new conversation. Be explicit: Update the existing onboarding spreadsheet rather than Create an onboarding spreadsheet with these changes.
Excel styling not visible in preview: Styling changes (colours, fonts) may not fully render in the grid preview but will be correct in the downloaded .xlsx file.
