Which Claude account can add the connector?

OpenOrg runs as a custom connector in Claude (remote MCP). Whether you can add it yourself depends on your Claude plan and, for company accounts, your org role.

OpenOrg only controls your OpenOrg Pro subscription — we can't change what your Claude plan or IT admin allows.

## Quick check

| Your Claude setup | Can you add OpenOrg yourself? | | --- | --- | | Free, Pro, or Max (personal account) | Yes — under Customize → Connectors | | Team or EnterpriseOwner or Primary Owner | Yes — add it for the org first, then members connect | | Team or EnterpriseMember (not Owner) | No — ask your Claude admin to add it org-wide first |

## Personal accounts (Free, Pro, Max)

Custom connectors are available on all Claude plans, including Free. Free accounts are limited to one custom connector.

  1. Open Customize → Connectors
  2. Click +Add custom connector
  3. Paste the OpenOrg URL from Account Settings → Connections

## Team & Enterprise accounts

On Team and Enterprise, only an Owner or Primary Owner can add a new custom connector to the organization. Members connect to one the admin has already enabled — they can't add a brand-new custom connector from scratch.

If you're the admin (Owner / Primary Owner):

  1. Open Organization settings → Connectors
  2. Click Add → hover CustomWeb
  3. Paste: https://workspace.openorg.fyi/api/mcp
  4. Name it OpenOrg and finish setup

Then tell your team to open Customize → Connectors, find OpenOrg (labelled Custom), and click Connect to sign in with their own OpenOrg account.

## "I can't find Add custom connector"

  1. Check you're in the right placeCustomize → Connectors, not a chat-only view
  2. Check your Claude plan — on Team/Enterprise as a Member, that option won't appear; you need an admin
  3. Ask your IT / Claude admin — they may need to add OpenOrg under Organization settings → Connectors first
  4. Check org policy — some companies restrict unverified third-party connectors; OpenOrg is a custom connector, not a Directory listing
Speak to your system admin if: you're on a company Claude account and don't see Add custom connector, or your admin settings don't list Connectors at all. Share this page and Anthropic's custom connector setup guide with them.

## What you still need from OpenOrg

Regardless of Claude plan, each person needs an active OpenOrg Pro subscription and must complete the OpenOrg OAuth approval when Claude prompts — that's separate from Claude permissions.
