Open Org Workspace
Docs/Connect to Claude/Before you start

Before you start

You'll need a couple of things in place before connecting.

1. An OpenOrg Pro subscription

The connector is a Pro feature, available on any active paid plan (individual, gift, or paid team seat). Check your status under Account Settings → Subscription. Free members will still see the connector under Account Settings → Connections, but it stays locked behind an upgrade until you're on Pro.

2. A Claude account that can add custom connectors

  • Free, Pro, or Max (personal) — you can add OpenOrg yourself under Customize → Connectors
  • Team or Enterprise — an Owner must add the connector for your org first; members then connect individually
  • Claude Desktop — macOS or Windows; same account rules apply

If you can't find Add custom connector, see Which Claude account can add the connector?.

3. The connector URL

https://workspace.openorg.fyi/api/mcp

Pro members can copy the exact URL any time from Account Settings → Connections.

How sign-in works: the first time you connect, you'll be sent to OpenOrg to sign in and approve access (standard OAuth). You approve once; Claude holds a secure token and should refresh it automatically. If Claude shows Connection expired, that's usually a Claude-side quirk — see "Connection expired" in Claude. You can revoke access at any time (see Security & privacy).
