Claude Skills Kit
Thirty skills for People jobs that come round again. Open a tile, copy the instructions, and paste them when you create a custom skill in Claude. If Claude is new to you, start with the setup and reference guide for week one.

How to add a skill
- 1Read the setup guide once if you are new to Claude.
- 2Pick a skill tile below. In the modal, copy the full skill text. That is the same content as the .md file in the kit.
- 3In Claude, open Customize, then Skills. If your plan lists a matching skill in Discover, add it there. Otherwise choose Create skill and paste the copied text as the skill instructions. Name the skill to match the kit (for example people-ops-triage).
- 4Turn on file creation if the skill writes documents. On many plans that is Settings, then Capabilities, then Create and edit files.
- 5Start with people-context-setup and company-voice. Every other skill reads those outputs when they exist.
- 6Add one skill a week after that. You do not need all thirty on day one.
Rules built into every skill
- Claude drafts. You decide and send. Nothing goes to employees without a person reading it first.
- Treat every chat as if an employee might read it later. Minimum necessary data, no names next to sensitive detail in anything shared.
- Skills draft and analyse in the chat you start. They do not watch HRIS, email or Slack in the background.
- Long-running work (review tracker, case files) lives in a Claude Project. Attach or paste what the skill needs each time.
- Drafts only. Nothing is sent to employees without a person approving it.
- No names next to performance, health, pay or ER detail in anything shared. IDs and counts instead.
- Groups under five are never reported on their own.
- Legal and country figures are marked "verify". Claude is not your employment lawyer.
- All numbers are calculated in code, never by hand.
How skills connect
Skills pass work to each other. Survey analysis hands the close-the-loop message to announcement-writer. A tough performance case moves from manager-coach to performance-improvement. A reference check hands development areas to remote-onboarding. A probation that is going badly goes through manager-coach before the meeting.
Other skill sources
- Anthropic Human Resources plugin
Official plugin with offers, onboarding, reviews, and policy lookup. Useful if you want Anthropic’s bundle instead of copying kit skills one by one.
- SkillMe people ops skills
Job ads, screening rubrics, and outreach skills. Overlap with the kit on hiring; pick one approach per job so you are not running two playbooks.
- Large skill libraries
Repositories with dozens of skills are hard to audit. A few skills you have read beat a folder you never opened.
